‘Sterile’ Wilkinson (Type I) Second Pattern F-S Fighting Knife

A very interesting early Wilkinson Type I (all nickel) Second Pattern F-S Knife. This is a non-import knife, so issues, carried and used. Interestingly this example is completely devoid of any markings, no etchings, no MoS stamps and importantly no import mark but clearly is a Wilkinson product, as the manufacturing details point to this maker, with this knife being identical to fully etched examples. The blade appears for length, just shy of 6 7/8”, showing patina and signs of general use and wear. The hilt is sold, original and fully intact, again, showing some loss of finish, patina and wear - consistent with being carried and used. The pommel nut is fully intact and original. Very unusual to find an early Type I like this that is totally unmarked, suggestive of clandestine issue? The original scabbard is long gone but comes with the lower half of a wartime sheath. A solid, original, honest and very scarce Wilkie Commando Dagger.
