Scarce Issued, Carried & Used RAF Fat Wooden Gripped F-S Fighting Knife

An excellent example of an issued, carried and used Fat Wooden Gripped F-S Fighting Knife. These were designed and issued to RAF personal, the reduction in weight (over a standard all metal F-S) being paramount for flight personal. In discussions with Robert Wilkinson-Latham he informed me that the blades for these knives were supplied by Wilkinson Sword and to be finished by other makers. Many examples of this pattern of F-S ended up in in service in the Far East campaign with the Chindits, as such and considering the jungle condition few have survived in good condition. This example remains intact and with it’s original leather sheath, clearly a knife that was issued, carried and used but a survivor non the less.
