Scarce Wilkinson Circa 1954 (SAS Malayan Emergency Period) Third Pattern F-S Fighting Knife

Early post-war Wilkinson knives have always fascinated me, so I’m pleased to offer this very scarce example dating from c1954 to c1964. Wilkinson continued to fulfill small military contracts throughout the post-war period and this is an extremely early example showing the new QEII etching from this period. The last of these knives were supplied for the FR contract of 1964 but as this is not marked with the FR stores code of the mid 60’s then it’s is likely this was for an earlier contract, perhaps even to supply the SAS during the Malayan Emergency (1948-1960) during this period? This is clearly an issued, carried and used example, showing general wear, sharpening and loss of finish but remains a very solid and honest example. The blade is full length, just shy of 7”, the etchings is clear and readable and the pommel nut original and untouched. A really great example of an early post-war Wilkie.
