An excellent, rare and desirable ‘Type I’ Wilkinson Second Pattern F-S Fighting Knife compete with it’s correct scabbard. The Type I or all nickel Second Pattern was the knife to the ‘new design’ (by Wilkinson) and immediately followed the First Pattern as of 12th August 1941. This fine and original example is untouched and uncleaned, a real ‘time capsule’ and is correct in every respect. Showing clear signs of being issued, carried and used but not abused and remaining in lovely condition. A full length blade at 6 7/8” with clear and readable etching panels. Most of the finish remains intact, no MoS stamps, which is correct for this pattern, no import stamp and with the pommel nut remaining intact, original and untouched. Importantly this rare survivor still is compete with it’s original and correct scabbard which has survived with its wings intact, the elastic retaining strap now missing. Overall, a superb, complete example of an important and early Wilkie.
