Superb MoS ⩚56 Type I Second Pattern F-S Fighting Knife

A superb example of the Ministry of Supply ⩚56 stamped contract knife, showing only very light use. On one side of the crossguard is the correct MoS ownership/inspection stamp of ⩚56, the other side having the import stamp of England. Overall is excellent condition, showing only very minor signs of use, wear or sharpening. The blade is full length at just over 6 3/4” with almost all of it’s original polish remaining and only showing some very fine sharpening marks. The blade has some initials ‘Mr’ lightly engraved. The hilt has fine knurling, retaining just about all of it’s original platting and with an original and untouched pommel nut. This fine Second Pattern comes with a scabbard with plated chape, wings no longer present, as is the elastic and frog backing.
