Rare & Unusual..! Wilkinson 1943 MoS Contract Third Pattern F-S With Re-Issued 1964 FR Contract Codes

If you like rare and unusual Wilkies, this one ticks all the boxes. A 1943 Wilkinson MoS contract Third Pattern F-S Fighting Knife with the correct ⩚B2 stamp to the crossguard. Latter suppled as per the 1964 Admiralty contract and stamped with the new stores codes; FR693 to the knife and FR271 to the scabbard. As if it couldn’t get more interesting, the original and correct scabbard has a nickel plated chap and this example has clearly been issued and use - one would presume to a Royal Marine Commando or perhaps a member of the Special Boat Squadron. As stated, about as interesting as it gets. The knife shows general use and wear, with a lovely hand-ground blade at 6 3/4” retaining some of its high gloss blueing. The wartime quality control casting number of ‘4’ on the grip. The pommel nut is original and intact. A fabulous and unusual knife with an amazing history, possible unique and not one you are likely to see again.
